What we build

Everything your FileMaker environment needs to keep running.

A live FileMaker system needs more than occasional attention. Server uptime, backups, version compatibility, performance, and ongoing development all need to be managed by someone who knows the platform well.

Why experience matters

Your system is only as reliable as the team behind it.

Most FileMaker support problems we inherit were not caused by the original build. They were caused by deferred maintenance, missed upgrades, and servers left unmonitored. A neglected system degrades over time.

BasicData has been hosting and supporting production FileMaker systems since 2018. Our clients stay with us for an average of eight years. We treat support engagements with the same rigour as new builds.

We are a registered member of the Claris FileMaker Business Alliance, the formal partner programme for professional FileMaker development companies.

Who we work with

Supporting businesses who depend on FileMaker every day.

Our support clients range from small practices running a single FileMaker solution, to large enterprise groups with complex multi-server environments and dozens of concurrent users. If FileMaker is critical to your operations, we can keep it running.

FAQ

Questions about FileMaker support.

Hosting, retainers, takeovers and what it costs.

Can you take over support for a system built by someone else?

Yes. System takeovers are a significant part of what we do. We assess the existing system, give you an honest report on what we find, agree a scope for any remediation work needed, and then take over hosting and support. Most systems we inherit are running within a few weeks.

What does a support retainer include?

Retainers cover server hosting, daily backups, monitoring, regular maintenance, and a set of development hours each month for ongoing changes. The development hours roll over so they are not wasted if a quiet month comes along.

Where are your FileMaker servers hosted?

We run FileMaker Server on dedicated infrastructure. Servers are monitored around the clock with automated alerting. Daily backups are retained for 30 days as standard, with longer retention available.

Do you support FileMaker Go mobile apps?

Yes. If your team uses FileMaker Go on iPhone or iPad, we maintain the mobile solution as part of the broader system support.

What does it cost to move our hosting to BasicData?

Hosting starts from a monthly fee that covers the server, backups, and monitoring. Development retainers are priced separately based on how many hours per month you need. We will give you a clear quote after a brief scoping call.
